ASA404 is an investigational medication in development by Novartis. At this time, ASA404 is available only to cancer patients in clinical trials because it has not been approved by regulatory authorities in any country. Research in animals has shown that ASA404 can interfere with cancer growth. In an earlier clinical trial, ASA404, in combination with standard chemotherapy treatment (paclitaxel and carboplatin), was found to improve survival in some patients with NSCLC. However, individual results may vary and there is no guarantee that participants will benefit by participating in the ASA404 studies. ASA404 is given in the doctor’s office as an intravenous (in the vein) infusion after your chemotherapy.
